Schoolyard is a collaborative project between designers Katy Chan and Hilary Dennis.

Our love of colour, texture, and pattern and our concern for the environment led us to develop an organic lifestyle collection. Our playful patterns combined with eco-friendly fabrics and our passion for quality make a special product that people are excited about using, and proud about giving.

We strive to use the best materials possible, and to work locally with small, family-run businesses to make our line. Our fabric is certified organic, milled in Canada. Our patterns are all designed by us and exclusive to our line. We use a neighbouring screen-printer to apply our patterns to the fabric and everything is sewn in Toronto.

We work out of a studio in Toronto, where we design and develop our line.

Before Schoolyard began, we studied textiles. Katy Chan is a graduate of the Textile Design program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, and Hilary Dennis received a B.F.A. from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
